GPS capability lands on SIM cards

Blue Sky Positioning has recently paraded its SIM card that comes with GPS reading capabilities at the SIMposium event in Berlin. Blue Sky Positioning managed to develop this after studying how a regular cellphone antenna works, and hence taking advantage of the phone’s antenna to receive GPS signals. The system is A-GPS, so you will find that most of the processing is done off the SIM . I guess we will see more GPS-capable handsets in the coming future, but chances are those said cellphones won’t be making their way to the U.S. if history is anything to go by.
