Bluetooth 2.1 is in the pipeline

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) recently announced that the core specification for Bluetooth 2.1 will be made available to vendors soon. This news comes just before Bluetooth 2.1-enabled devices hit the market, where the new standard allows a hassle-free device pairing experience, consumes less power, and is more secure in nature. Bluetooth 2.1 is backwards compatible with earlier specifications, so you don’t have to worry about upgrading your entire range of Bluetooth-enabled devices just yet.
