$10 goes a long way

With inflation being rampant these days, how far can $10 take you? Pretty far actually, assuming the idea of this $10 cellphone is realized. The people at Berkeley Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS) are currently hankering after cellphone manufacturers in Taiwan to help develop a super cheap phone that targets developing countries as well as people who want nothing but the bare basics. This is a noble effort, but $10 for a cellphone? My puny brain is still trying to grasp that altruistic idea without having me hemorrhage at the nose.
