HTC announces new CDMA handsets

Published

on

HTC has unveiled a couple of CDMA Windows Mobile devices at CTIA for the first time and will be carried by Telus in Canada in Q2 and sometime in mid-year for the US. Both the S720 and P4000 support EV-DO connectivity and can be upgraded software-wise to support Rev. A. If you thought that the S720 and P4000 look familiar, that is because the former is actually a CDMA version of the S710 (also known as Vox) while the latter is a CDMA-flavored Hermes (or Cingular 8525). There are some physical changes with both handsets, although the S720 will come with Windows Mobile 6.0 while the P4000 ships with Windows Mobile 5.0 with an upgrade option provided by the carrier.
