Dual mode handsets from Sanyo

Sanyo has just announced that they are working on a dual mode CDMA/WiMax handset that features chips from Beceem. Chances are these new models will be available for Sprint, although Sanyo has not confirmed that yet. Sanyo’s rivals – Nokia, Motorola, and Samsung are also working on bringing dual-mode devices to Sprint. WiMax testing will begin across three cities soon, and Sprint is tipped to roll out the service later this year. Sprint has also kept mom on the type of handsets and devices which will be made available to consumers during testing and at launch.
