Verizon offers Samsung U740

Samsung’s unique U740 cellphone that comes with a dual-hinge design is now available from Verizon. The U740 can be opened in the normal clamshell manner or in a landscape orientation that makes it easier to send text messages as well as cater for miscellanous data functions. The addition of the hinge and a full QWERTY thumb-board does not make the U740 unwieldy in any manner, and it remains surprisingly slim. Certain keys have dual functions, depending on whether the phone is opened or not. Other features of the U740 include EV-DO and Bluetooth connectivity, a 1.3 megapixel camera, and a microSD card slot. You can pick up the U740 from Verizon for $150 and a 2-year contract.
