Here is yet another Linux-powered handset to accompany Grundig’s U900 cellphone, and this time the Phreedom phone hails from Malaysia. The specifications definitely outstrip the U900, featuring a Treo-inspired QWERTY keyboard, a 2.5″ QVGA 256k color display, voice-over-WiFi capabilities, and double tri-band GSM radio which supports both 850/1800/1900 MHz and 900/1800/1900 MHz bands. The 312MHz PX270 processor should be able to handle anything thrown at it. The Phreedom phone will be released sometime in Q2 2007 at a yet undisclosed price.
