Visitors to the 3GSM Conference in a couple of weeks’ time will be able to take a look at the u-blox 5 chip that is more than capable of picking up weak signals from -160 dBm onwards from either the GPS or Galileo satellite network. This means users would be able to track down their target (normally parents and kids) within urban canyons and other notoriously hard-to-reach places such as train stations and shopping malls. Currently, there are no major handset manufacturers who plan to incorporate the u-blox 5 chip yet.
