To recap, the GSP-1700 mobile satellite phone weighs a travel-friendly 203 grams and boasts up to 4 hours of talktime. Features include a color display, a lighted keypad, and portable headset capability. You can sign up for the the E-Star Emergency airtime rate plan at $29.99 monthly in case you think that you will be stuck in the Himalayas anytime soon with no help whatsoever in sight. The Globarstar GSP-1700 retails for $999 a pop.
