iPhone debuts with stunning design
Apple decided to steal a little CES thunder by unveiling the long rumored iPhone device. This handset is shaped after an iPod, and for a cellphone it can be classified under the large category. As expected, the iPhone uses touchscreen functionality for the user interface, offering a widescreen display in the process. Unfortunately, it isn’t exactly the most connected device, falling short of 3G with its WiFi and EDGE connectivity. This is clearly a disappointment as a fast 3G connection would make downloading content via iTunes a snap. There is a silver lining in this dark cloud, however, and it lies in the software department.
The iPhone’s software will definitely wow everybody as it features Apple’s easy-to-use user interface, a web browser that works great with a widescreen display, and a large storage capacity. Whatever it is, the iPhone definitely provides a breathe of fresh air to the cellphone industry with its cutting edge design. Just make sure you have a piece of soft, dry cloth to keep those fingerprints at bay.
