Take one glance at the Samsung i600 and you would think that it is the Samsung i607 BlackJack handset at first glance. You are correct in that assumption as the i600 was recently launched at the 2006 ITU Telecom World show in Hong Kong. Boasting a body that is just 11.8mm thick, this QWERTY messaging device runs on the Windows Mobile 5.0 for Smartphone OS and comes with WiFi and Bluetooth with A2DP stereo connectivity, HSDPA, and a 1.3 megapixel camera, making this a pretty impressive e-mail device based on the specifications alone. Real world performance, however, could be a very different matter. The i600 will operate on the 2100MHz frequency band while supporting both GSM and EDGE data across all four of the common GSM bands. Samsung has even thrown in an RSS reader and a podcasting application for good measure. Pricing and availability details are still unknown, but it should be released really soon in Hong Kong.
