Black Q more than meets the eye

Published

Verizon Wireless is offering the black version of the uber-popular Motorola Q for an extra 50 smackeroos over the classic silver-colored version, but what is it exactly that you get by plonking down that extra dough? Apparently, it is not just a new coat of paint, but the black Q comes with a rubberized exterior to combat a bad case of butterfingeritis, the ability to control the jog wheel via the volume buttons on a Bluetooth headset, and upgraded software that provides better power management, which in turn translates to a longer battery life. Are all those worth the extra $50? One thing’s for sure – you can buy satisfaction knowing your black Q is a wee bit superior to your colleague’s silver Q.
