Amoi to release new smartphones

Amoi Electronics recently showcased four new smartphones at the ITU Telecom World 2006 event in Hong Kong that will be affordably priced for the masses. The four devices will be powered by the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system, with the E72 retailing for less than $250. Prices for the other 3 smartphones, the E75, E76, and E78 are currently unknown and will be announced at a later date, but the E72’s price point makes it one of the cheapest Windows Mobile smartphones in China. What you see on the right is an obviously doctored image of the E78, but don’t take it for granted that it will be a Pocket PC.
