Motorola DVB-H ready next year

Motorola’s DVB-H mobile TV prototype cellphone has been spotted around various trade shows and photo previews this year, and Digitimes has word that Motorola will be producing the first DVB-H handset sometime in the middle of next year, if word from Jerry Kuo, technical and product director of mobile devices at Motorola Taiwan is true. Apparently Motorola in Taiwan will be working together with a media company to test out Mobile TV for handsets sometime in the middle of 2007 as well. This could usher in a new era of killer applications for cellphones as they compete with MP3 players and handheld consoles for the user’s limited commute time.
