Hitachi W42H with customizable exterior

Hitachi’s W42H cellphone is a CDMA 1x Win handset, offering three different customized designs when showcased at the recent CEATEC 2006 event. The outstanding feature of the W42H is the ‘Double Scene’ mode that enables users to switch between business and private modes on-the-fly, where everything from the screen image, address book, and even ring tone will be changed at the push of the asterisk button. There is even a ‘Remote Delete’ function that helps secure and delete your data in the event of a theft or loss through a remote connection. Some of the specifications include a 2.1 megapixel camera with autofocus, a Web browser, and MP3 playback capability. Don’t expect to see this handset Stateside as it will probably remain a Japan exclusive.
