Globalstar GSP-1700 a looker

A satellite cellphone has a long way to go before it can be accepted by the mainstream consumer who prefers the sleek, smooth lines of the Motorola KRZR and LG Chocolate. Globalstar decided to take up the task to produce a sexy-looknig satellite handset, and apparently they have succeeded with the GSP-1700. This handset weighs 7.1 ounces which is half the weight of similar phones in its class, giving you coverage in over 120 countries as you travel around the world. Features include a four hour talk time and 36 hours of standby time. Since satellite phones occupy a very niche market, the GSP-1700 is as good as it gets for the moment. Don’t expect fancy stuff like 2 megapixel cameras and a 16.7 million color display though.
