Primofonino from Vodafone and Disney
Vodafone Italy and Disney are targeting the 8 to 13 year old market with its new Primofonino cellphone. Featuring a keypad that resembles Disney’s iconic Mickey Mouse, the Primofonino is a cellphone that marries both security and protection with ease-of-use. Parents are able to monitor their children’s usage of the cellphone by checking out the call records as well as whom they SMS with. In addition, parents are also able to block calls to and from numbers which have not been programmed into the contact list. The contact list itself is protected by a password which can only be modified by the administrator. This unique handset also comes with a couple of interchangeable keywords, where one has the traditional dozen keys while the other has only a quartet of keys that limit the number of people whom the kid can call to just four. The Primofonino costs €99 (approximately $125).
