FCC gives nod to Sanyo SCP 7000
The almighty FCC has just given its nod of approval to the Sanyo SCP-7000 cellphone which will be available from Sprint PCS. You won’t be able to gather much from the FCC page, but at least you can tell what the handset looks like. It is amazing that Sanyo has not quite ditched the antenna yet in its cellphone design as other major cellphone manufacturers have already done so. Posts at sprintusers.com forums show that the SCP-7000 is actually the beefed up version of both 2300 and 2400 handsets from Sanyo as well. The dual-band CDMA plus AMPS Sanyo SCP-7000 is tipped to be released with a price tag of $180 sometime in early November.
