Sony Ericsson announces Z550a in London

Sony Ericsson has unveiled the Z550a in London recently, bringing in what was available in the U.S. since May. The Z550a is a quad-band GPRS 850/900/1800/1900 clamshell cellphone which functions well as a secondary digital audio player with the inclusion of a Memory Stick Micro slot that can hold memory cards of up to 1GB in capacity. Other features are pretty standard and good enough to get the job done, including a 262k color TFT display, an external STN display, a 1.3 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, support for MP3, AAC, and MPEG 4 file formats, an integrated FM radio, and 25MB of internal memory. Connectivity options include Bluetooth and USB 2.0. There is word on the price, although we expect the Z550a to be launched sometime next month.
