Philips VP5500 wireless videophone

Philips has introduced its new VP5500 videophone at the recently concluded IFA 2006 event in Germany. This wireless phone can be used as a glorified house phone for voice calls, and it also comes with a rotating camera that enables you to carry on a video conversation. The button on the side turns the video function on or off, so you can choose to show your room off to your mates while keeping mom and dad out of the loop whenever they call you. Needless to say, chances are both parties will need to use the same handset if they want to hold a decent video conversation. There is no word on pricing and availability details at the moment.
