H20-powered cellphones
DoCoMo of Japan and Aquafairy are collaborating to develop a water-based micro fuel cell for cellphones, with the aim of creating the smallest fuel cell in the world. It will have a power output of 2 watts and uses a simple hydrogen-producing mechanism and power units that makes it more powerful than anything that was ever developed before. This portable recharger has enough juice to recharge a handset several times over at the same rate as current AC adapters. Hopefully this development will be commercialized soonest possible with the proliferation of power-hungry cellphone services.
