Unlimited 3G data plan will not last forever

3G has long been touted to empower the mobile generation like never before, but it has been a disappointing ride so far. Some people point out that 3G lacks a killer application (like what SMS was to 2G) and needs one fast. This is why mobile carriers are offering extremely attractive 3G packages in order to boost its proliferation, but most people still steer clear of it because they can get much better content faster via a WiFi hotspot. If more and more people take up 3G packages, the existing network will be unable to handle the upsurge in traffic and will carriers will be forced to curtail unlimited data plans.
