Invensense tackles camera phone image stabilization issue

Cellphone cameras have evolved quickly and can now capture images that rival entry-level digital cameras. One major drawback of cellphone cameras is the lack of an anti-shake mechanism. Invensense has hopped on the problem and recently announced the world’s smallest dual-axis gyroscope that can be fitted into any camera phone. Its proprietary wafer-level integration methods make it ideal for image stabilization applications while keeping in line with the size and cost requirements of cellphone manufacturers. Hopefully this will translate to a batch of stable camera phones by next year. Check out the press release here.
