DoCoMo receives waterproof handset from Sony Ericsson
Sony Ericsson has unveiled the SO902WP+ that is able to remain submerged up to 30 minutes in a metre-deep of water without being damaged. It is available via DoCoMo in Japan and is widely seen as an upgrade to the SO902i. Unfortunately, the original 3.2-megapixel camera had to make way to include the waterproof parts, and thus we end up with a miserly 1.3-megapixel camera instead. This FOMA phone offers 3G connectivity and an LED that blinks each time the IC-card is active. The display works well underwater due to the brighter screen. The SE SO902WP+ is expected to retail around $315.
