VK4000 slider cellphone approved for U.S.
VK Mobile has taken an aggressive stance to win market share in the U.S., announcing a bunch of cellphones that are just 0.35″ thick. The FCC has given the nod for a selected few, including the VK4000. This slider cellphone looks very much like a Samsung, and operates on quad-band GSM networks. It comes with a 262k color screen (128 x 160 pixels), MP3/AAC support, and 1GB of NAND flash memory, making it a contender to the 1GB iPod nano as a portable music device. The VK4000 comes with a disappointing VGA camera, making this an entry level phone for beginners.
