Nokia's swanky new store to carry high-end phones
Chicago will be the choice site to open Nokia’s flagship store on June 21. This will be followed by another outlet located in New York’s upmarket Fifth Avenue region before the year is over. Both stores will carry phones that are not available directly via U.S. carriers, including top-of-the-line phones like the N93, N91, N73, and N80. These stores herald a new era in North American phone retailing, offering previously unavailable choices to the consumers. The Chicago store will occupy 3,500 square feet of retail space for customers to browse through virtually all of Nokia’s products there. If this business model worked for Apple, it could very well bode good tidings for the Finnish cellphone giant.
